I love TV.
I always have.
I don't just watch PBS either.
I watch it all.
But I watch less and less news
Because it's the scariest show on TV.
I worked in TV news for seventeen years and won a pile of awards.
I'll keep them, but I'd love to take
Back the fear I helped to inspire, night after night, telling people
What I thought was the truth about our world; only to find out later
It was, maybe, a fragment of a percent of the truth, and that most of us
Live with higher ideals, hoping for meaning and love in our lives.
I want to fan the flames of that instead.
I believe we are longing for something better and now it's time for
TV that lifts us up.
That makes us smile as it lifts us up and
Opens our minds to who we really are.
