Glitzen is the reindeer you never heard about on Christmas Eve. That's because her sparkly self could never find a way to fit in with the big, powerful reindeer who pull Santa's sleigh. She had to work harder to find her dream, but she found it in Times Square on New Year's Eve! The moral? You can spend a lifetime trying to be someone else, but you'll only find happiness when you decide to be yourself.

The snow sparkled under a full moon the night she was born -- a dainty little reindeer to take her place beside three brawny brothers and two strong sisters. They had already made their mark as Santa's best, and they were hoping for a sixth to pull his sleigh -- all of them leading the way around the world on the most important night of the year -- Christmas Eve.

They were disappointed.

Their very little sister came into this world all delicate sugar and sparkling spice. The best they could say was that the littlest reindeer sure was eye-catching. I mean this little thing almost glowed! It was as though she were covered by ...not snow... but the gleam of it...as it caught the light of the moon. They were disappointed, but they could hardly take their eyes off her as their parents laid the little jewel between them to think about what her name should be.
