The Girl Who Dreamed in Color is about going green (better yet, having fun and being creative while going green)! It's a children's book about a little girl, who not only longs to turn her absolutely colorless world into a Technicolor dream, but figures out creative ways to reuse and recycle at the same time. For HGTV viewers, it's a nod to how we spent our days on "Decorating Cents."

Even the old wooden chair from behind the dry cleaning store had gotten a fresh coat of bright green paint; dotted with the bottle caps Rosa had painted to match her striped walls.

Mrs. Pat gave a shout of joy when she discovered her leftover fabric had been turned into a giant flower, sewn onto Rosa's bright white blanket, and the colorful tassels on her bed pillow.

"This is an awesome room, Rosa! How did you think to do all of this?"

"Well, I thought that if something was beautiful to someone once, it could be beautiful again. All I had to do was look at what you gave me until my imagination turned it into something else.
